Website Migration
-
Q: What does the web site migration service entail? Will my web site be safe?
A: If your current hosting provider can no longer match the demands of your site, or when you experience constant downtime, or if you have to wait for hours for the client service staff to reply to you, it may be a good idea to swap your web hosting provider, i.e. to transfer all the files for your web sites as well as your databases from your present provider to your new provider. At Isolex Business Technologies, we know that this can often be difficult and time–consuming. This is why we will do all that for you at no cost! Our highly capable technical team will transfer your site content from your current provider to us. Our technicians have got lots of experience migrating websites and are able to handle everything – from a normal WordPress–driven blog or Joomla™–powered website, to an extremely elaborate, custom–built web app.
-
Q: Just how long will the website migration procedure take?
A: There are plenty of aspects to bear in mind – the overall number of web files, the size of the database, the complexity of the website itself and the present workload of our website migration professionals, etc. Even so, we do try to implement all web site migrations within a 48–hour time period. Less sizeable sites are transferred much faster – typically in under 24 hours.
-
Q: What info will I be required to give to your Website Migration Department?
A: We do not gather any information that is private. We’ll require, though, the login information for your old web hosting account along with the name of the website that you wish to transfer.
-
Q: My present web hosting account has sensitive info inside. How can I trust you?
A: Our Privacy Policy is an inseparable part of the contract that we will have with you as a client. We’re committed to protecting the safety of the private details collected from the customers. To achieve that, we use technical security measures to avoid the loss, the misapplication, the modification or the unlawful disclosure of the private information under our control. The measures include, but are not limited to: physical, digital and administrative procedures to safeguard and secure the details that we assemble on the World Wide Web. When we request clients to supply financial information (such as a credit card number), this info is secured using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.
-
Q: Will my website be unavailable during the transfer?
A: Nope. Your website will continue to be online during the transfer. As soon as everything is done on our end, we’ll tell you so that you can preview it and check for problems. If everything’s okay, all you will have to do is modify your domain name’s DNS resource records.
-
Q: Will my old hosting provider know that I am leaving them?
A: No. Aside from your login credentials for the Control Panel, we won’t require anything. We’ll never get in touch with your hosting provider. They won’t know anything about the transfer either.
-
Q: Does it make any difference what platform my present hosting provider is using?
A: We support all Linux–driven web hosting platforms. Generally, if we can access your Control Panel, we’ll be able to transfer your web site. The only platforms that we don’t support are closed–source web site building platforms like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
