The simplest way to provide a third-party with access to the files in a given folder is to create an FTP account and to specify content access limits in regard to your web hosting space. If you use the services of a web designer, for example, they will not receive access to any other content or any private data in your web hosting account. You can also set up separate FTP accounts to maintain different websites built with a desktop web design application such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage – each website can be uploaded and subsequently modified using an FTP account that has access to its own site folder on the hosting server. All these things will be possible provided that you are able to set up and administer your FTP accounts with ease.
