Transferring a domain from one registrar company to another usually entails the use of a special domain name authorization code, which different registrar companies call an EPP key, a domain password or an Auth-Info code. This code can be used as a protection mechanism against unsanctioned transfer attempts with all generic and with most country-code extensions. It can be obtained only by the owner of the particular domain name and is provided by the current registrar. It must be given to the new registrar because the transfer process cannot be initiated without it. The code is case-sensitive and commonly includes numbers and special symbols, so as to prevent unauthenticated persons from deciphering it. Certain domain registrars even reset the codes of domains registered through them after a given period of time for better safety.

EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Website Hosting

If you’ve got a cloud website hosting, you have registered a domain name through us and you would like to transfer it away, you can obtain its EPP authentication code with no more than a couple of mouse clicks. When you log into your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domains that you’ve registered through us shown in alphabetical order. To the right of each domain, you’ll see a tiny EPP icon for all domain name extensions that need a code in order to be transferred between domain registrars. Clicking the icon will send the code to the domain name owner’s email immediately. In the very same section you can also find and ultimately change the email address, if the one there isn’t valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you have a semi-dedicated server account with us and you’ve registered a domain that you would like to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authentication code unbelievably easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your domain names and your account. If you visit the Registered Domains section, you will see an EPP icon on the right side of your domains, provided that their TLD extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to ensure that only the owner of the domain name can get this information. If the current email is no longer valid, you can update it with a couple of mouse clicks without leaving this section of the Control Panel. The update is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP transfer code for the specific domain name right away.
